About NCSL - Expenses
Where do NCSL funds go?
We're glad you asked!
Operating a sports league is expensive.
As we grow, so do expenses.
We are now a Baseball, Soccer, and Basketball league that has over 1,000 players and 150 churches.
Below are the areas that the monies raised through the league's fundraiser support.
Although personal vehicles are used for much of the league's work, we also must maintain lawn mowers, trailers etc.
At this time the league uses fields provided by private Christian schools and Churches.
The private fields are mowed and maintain by the league which is very hard on lawn mowers etc.
2) Field Maintenance
By and large our biggest cost, maintaining fields is expensive.
Fertilizer, gas, wages, and time all cost money.
We currently maintain all game fields and practice sites.
These are all mowed on a weekly basis.
Placing drainage, dragging, leveling, heavy equipment rental and other miscellaneous items all combine to make this costly.
Fields and facilities are always a need for the league so we reach out to the public school districts in our area each season.
Sometimes the fields we obtain are not in the best shape and are in need of some work which we provide.
The luxury of public play fields can be very expensive to rent.
So any donation
helps a good cause.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
Our scholarship program allows those in financial need the ability to provide their children with the fun and exciting experience the league so proudly offers.
Each season, the league provides scholarships to 15% of its participants, and with each new season we are looking for more ways to help those in need.
Thanks to the generous donations from our corporate sponsors and those individuals who have made donations to our scholarship program, we are looking to do even more for the community in the future.
Portable fencing and portable toilets are rented each year.
5) Equipment and Uniforms
As we grow, so does the expense of equipment and uniforms.
Every season we have to add additional uniforms replacing lost or damaged uniforms which costs thousands of dollars.
Baseball equipment is expensive. Bats, balls, bags, batting T's, helmets, catcher's gear and many other items fall under this category.
6) Office Equipment
Staying modern with the website, software, printers, office equipment and other administrative items helps us to produce quality documents and effectively operate.
The league gives young people under eighteen a way to earn money by serving as officials.
They attend training and do their best to facilitate games.
They are paid for their efforts according to the level at which they officiate.
This includes a monthly cost to produce and use digital marketing for bulk emails.
NCSL also produces Flyers, which are distributed at local Schools and Churches.
NCSL also uses other assorted items to advertise the league and get the word out to the community.
Operating the fundraiser itself is costly to the league.
There are many hours of man power that go into coordinating and putting together information printing etc. which is needed to make the fundraiser a success.
